Revitalizing a community involves more than simply providing activities and services, it is about enhancing the culture of that community.  It has been said that politics is downstream from culture, which is true, also true is that culture is downstream from cult, that is, the system of religious veneration and devotion directed toward a particular figure or object.

Over the course of the last sixty years the influence of Christianity has declined to be replaced by cultural Marxism.  The practical effect has been that a spiritual world view emphasizing love and self sacrifice of the children of God has been replaced by a materialist world view emphasizing consumption and self interest as members of distinct and competing classes.  A life ethic of freedom and self actualization has been supplanted by a life ethic of victimization and dependence on the State.
